Today we are excited to announce a number enhancements to our Matterport powered VirtualSite platform

Since releasing the VirtualSite platform, our early users have been an invaluable source of feedback. We have always endeavored to be responsive by addressing issues as they arise, however there have been a few common issues that have come up time and time again. As a result, we have been working hard to fix these issues and make them available to users via this major update. Below is a list of the updates and enhancements now available.

We have made a number of fixes to the automatic processing of your Matterport models, making the service more reliable and faster.

Multiple models within a site could occasionally result in long loading times. We have now fixed this issue to ensure you only load what is needed, when its needed, making loading times shorter and the browser based viewer more responsive than ever before.

Custom branding

Users can now customise the branding of their site by uploading a custom logo. This logo replaces the default VirtualSite logo throughout your site allowing you to promote your own brand with your clients.

Easier to use drag and drop tool for overlaying your scans on Google maps

For multi-level scans you can now choose to overlay on Google maps using any level you wish. Previously, it was only possible to overlay your scan using the lowest level. The latest update offers you more flexibility to chose which level is used to align your scan making it easier to identify common landmarks within google maps and satellite view. More options to customize the look and feel of your models

We have added the ability to customize many aspects of your Matterport models including; name, Matterport showcase Url, enable/disable Matterport showcase, hide/show individual levels within your model and change the default starting level.

Modify the Matterport embed url or hide altogether

This feature allows users to modify the Matterport embed url accessible via the VirtualSite viewer. This means you can now take advantage of the various configurations that Matterport offer through custom embed urls. Features such as branding, help options, automatic launching, highlight reels and more. Alternatively, you can now chose to hide the Matterport showcase altogether meaning you no longer need to have your Matterport model hosted within the Matterport cloud platform to enjoy the features available via the VirtualSite platform.

Hide individual levels and set default starting level within your model

It is now possible to selectively hide/show different levels within your models allowing your to customize exactly what your users have access to. In addition to this, its now possible to set the default starting level. Previously when a model first loaded, it would start at the lowest level within your scan. Now its possible to control exactly where your users start when they first arrive to your site.

Easier to use secure sharing via email

We have fixed various bugs with sharing. Now sharing is as simple as typing in the email address(es). Users will then receive and email with a secure link for them to log in for the first time and access your site.

We have addressed a number of common issues that users experenced when attempting to access the VirtualSite platform using Safari or Internet Exporer.
